Water, Water Everywhere!

It will come as NO surprise to learn that
Little Man Jed
LOVES his WATER!!
(Seems like every other  blog post is about Jed outside playing in the water!)

We are so happy to have some nice weather to play outside in.
Since grandma loves to water her garden . . . its a perfect fit!!
His mommy (Our daughter Allie) was hanging out and snapped these pics!

Since Jed is growing so fast, he needs to be watered too!

Such fun!!

We could do this all day long!

 More please!

 Such
HAPPY
BOY!

I hope he will enjoy watching these tomatoes and the other veggies grow!
(And maybe he will not be too picky this summer to eat some too!)

So much fun!!

In the Yard With Mr. Jed . . .

Last week we had some nice WARM weather!!  Hooray!!!
And someone was delighted to be outside!!
I think Jed would live outside with a bucket of water and a hose if he could.
That boy just loves his water!!
I could not resist snapping a few pictures that captured his PURE JOY!

He just had to check out the dog water in every way possible
including stepping . . . .

And seeing what it felt like to drink . . . . Grandma snapped a quick picture
and then had to gently "redirect"
I just could not have that little boy drinking
out of the dog dish no matter how clean the water was!

Luckily the hose was a good distraction!
Such fun . . . I can't wait for summer!

Jed also "helped" grandma plant a little in the garden . . .
don't you jut love this little face . . .
what are you doing mema?

Last of the Tomatoes & Eggplants - Bring on the Oranges!

I love love love growing things and now that I don't have kids at home and I am done with the crazy rat-race of trucking kids around, I have more time to enjoy my garden.  I'm getting old and its hard to bend over, so I had some raised (very raised I might add) garden boxes built.
Can't wait for my grandson to be old enough to dig around with me!!
Here are some pics from the yesterday.
Well, there may be a few more tomatoes, but this is some of the last ones!
Summer is quickly passing and soon it will be time to plant some winter yummies!
My eggplants struggled this year, only got a couple for some reason.
This one is a beauty and I cannot wait to put it on the grill in a few days!!
The great news is that as summer turns to fall, the oranges will slowly grow and begin to ripen!
What does this mean?
ORANGE JUICE FOR CHRISTMAS!!

A Rose From My Garden

This morning the light was just perfect to take a picture of one of my rose bushes.  This is a tea rose and it is called "New Zealand".
It has incredible color and to me this picture looks almost like someone did a water color!
I love roses and have around 19 of them not including all the china doll roses around the yard.
I enjoy looking at them each day.  Sometimes, like today, the roses remind me of a dear friend who went to be with the Lord 2 1/2 years ago.  Her name was Rose.  I am so thankful for the memories of Rose.  And I am thankful that in my garden, roses like the one above make me think of a very special friend that I cannot wait to see again someday in heaven.
